Bertha Wium Landscape Development was contacted by the managements of the Netcare Pinehaven Hospital and Pinehaven Country Estate to propose an upgrade of the landscaping to the main entrance of the Pinehaven TWP.

The proposal includes a multitude of unique hard and soft landscape elements that add character and scale to the area.

A water feature in the main turning circle will become a focal point, with high foam jets gushing from the ground and curved stone clad walls cutting past each other.

New pedestrian walkways with access from the main road are complemented by robust stone walls of varying heights and large signage pylons that provide a sense of scale to the wide road reserve. The columns of the existing entrance structure were incorporated in the proposal to minimize demolition cost.

These hard landscape elements are complemented by the use of indigenous, low maintenance, feature and flowering planting suitable to the climatic conditions of the area.
